Huntingdon Baseball Prospect Showcase Camps

Huntingdon College will be hosting Prospect Showcase Camps on May 16th, August 15th, and October 24th.

The Prospect Showcase Camps are constructed to target all interested Freshmen, Sophomores, Juniors, and unsigned Seniors. This camp will give all prospective players the opportunity to demonstrate their abilities in front of the Huntingdon coaching staff as well as other colleges & junior colleges in the area. This event will allow participates to also receive collegiate coaching instruction throughout the day.

The camp will run from 9 AM – 12:30 PM filled with demonstrations of arm strength, fielding, offensive production and power. This workout will be more individualized for each participant guaranteeing more repetitions during the camp sessions as well as opportunities to demonstrate skills during instructional and teaching sessions. Instruction will be given on each component of the game: infield, outfield, hitting, pitching, and catching.

Previous players from our camps have gone on to play at numerous colleges across the southeast. Registration will be cut off after the first 80 players to sign up. This is a great opportunity for anyone who desires to one day play collegiate baseball to be seen in action and for underclassman to get on the Follow List of programs in attendance.

There are no refunds due to incurred cost of hiring staff & event planning. If you cannot make it for some reason then you will be credited to the next showcase camp. (There are No Pitcher-Only guys for this showcase camp)

Schedule

8:30 AM – 9:00 AM Check In

9:00 AM – 9:15 AM Organized Stretch

9:15 AM – 11:30 AM

All players will be timed in the 60 yard sprint.
Outfielders will field and throw to 3B and home from RF.
Infielders will field groundballs straight on, forehand, backhand, turn double plays, and slow rollers from their position and make throws to 1B and turn double plays at 2B.
First basemen will field groundballs from normal depth and throw to 2B and field groundballs from the position of holding the runner and turn double plays, and finish with a slow roller to 3B.
Catchers will make several throw to 2B for Pop Times, recover bunt plays and make throws to 1B, also demonstrate their blocking and receiving in bullpens.
All offensive players will separate into 3 groups to fill the 3 stations of hitting live on the field, hitting in the cages, and fielding.
Hitters will receive fundamental instruction during their cage session and field batting practice.
Infielders and Outfielders will also receive instruction during and after their designated sessions.
This showcase camp is not for “Pitcher Only” guys, so if you are a pitcher only then we encourage you to run the 60, take BP, and take reps at your best position besides pitcher to be involved throughout the morning.

Pitchers will throw bullpens and receive some instruction on mechanics, and delivery tips.
